Opal K. Jordan, 77, of Masontown, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024, at her home following a lengthy illness.
Born September 28, 1946, in Clifton Mills, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Franklin Winfield Collins and Mamie Irene Cuppett Collins.
She had been employed for more than 20 years with the Echo Child Development program, as a cook and assistant instructor. Opal enjoyed playing bingo, working in her flower gardens and cooking and baking, especially for her regular Sunday family dinners. And as they left those Sunday dinners, she was always known to say, “Love you bunches and bunches!” She enjoyed country music, and her favorite song was “Happiest Girl in the Whole USA”. Opal was deeply loved, and will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her four children: Brenda Jordan (Randy) of Kingwood, W.Va., Robin Jordan of Fairchance, David Jordan. Jr. (Tonya) and Tim Jordan (Melissa), all of Ligonier; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren;
Her husband, David Jordan, Sr., passed away on December 31, 2020. Also deceased is a daughter, Juanita, in infancy; two granddaughters, Tricia and Amanda; a sister, Betty; and two brothers, Bob and Pete Collins.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, April 5. A brief funeral service follow at 4 p.m., with Pastor Kathy Griffith officiating.
