Gretchen Magie Ciaramella, 89, of Hopwood, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2024.

She is preceded in death by her parents Josiah and Irene Magie Stillwagon of Uniontown; her husband, Francis Ciaramella; daughter, Carla Lee; son, Marc Stephen; and siblings.

Gretchen was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Ciaramella and wife, Susan; daughter, Julie Ciaramella; and daughter-in-law, Maria Schiano Ciaramella. She was the cherished grandmother of Christian and Dante Ciaramella and Abigail and Jeremy Ciaramella; she is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Gretchen was a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown. She was a graduate of St. John’s Catholic High School. She was a member of the Jefferson Club for many years. She was a lifetime employee and eventual manager of the South Union Tax Collectors Office.

She was an avid sports fan, loved the ocean and cherished her memories of many family trips to the beach.

She was absolutely devoted to her four grandchildren and their lives. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 3, and until 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, when prayers of transfer will be said, followed by an 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Johns The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
