Joanna Walters Altamare, 99, of Macungie, formerly of Uniontown PA was welcomed into her eternal home on Saturday, November 30, 2024 with her family by her side.
She was preceded in death by her husbands George “Red” Walters and Norman Altamare as well as a son John Walters.
She was an accomplished painter, loved line dancing and won numerous shuffleboard medals. She served her country working at the Goodyear factory in Akron Ohio assembling Corsair airplanes during the WW II effort. She was a true “Rosie the Riveter.”
She is survived by children, Jim “Buck” Walters (Joyce) of Hopwood, Gloria Brashear (Rev. Jim) of Macungie, Judy McClain (Larry) of Birmingham, Ala. and Pat Goettel (Jeff) of Monongahela. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 22 great- grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
A viewing and service will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2024 in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
