Uniontown

Eugene T. Burchianti, 78, of Uniontown, PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Uniontown Hospital.

He was born January 18, 1946, a son of the late Ann and Aldo Burchianti. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Joann; and brother-in-law, Paul E. Verska.

Gene is survived by his wife of 54 years to Evelyn Verska Burchianti; son, Jason Burchianti of Springdale; daughter, Karla Fleckenstein and husband David of West Mifflin; granddaughter, Adrianna; and several nieces and nephews.

Gene was a graduate of Albert Gallatin High School in 1964 and earned his technical Degree at the former Gateway Technical Institute; he also served six years in the Army Reserve. Gene was a meat cutter by trade; he was also employed as an electronic technician; and by Volkswagen for 10 years.

He was a member of St, Francis of Assisi Church in Footedale; Third Degree Knights of Columbus, Masontown Council #04261; life member of The American Legion Post 423 of Masontown; The AMVETS of Hopwood Post 103; The Golden Group of Footedale; and Standing in the Gap of Uniontown.

His hobbies included history, particularly the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. He enjoyed traveling and visiting historical places, especially when accompanied by his family and his granddaughter, Adrianna. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday and on Saturday until the Prayer Service at 9:30 a.m., at The DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem, PA 15468, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 528 Footedale Road, New Salem PA.

Entombment will immediately follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, with Military Funeral Honors accorded by The United States Army and The Hopwood AMVETS.
