Norma Jean Riley

**In Loving Memory of Norma Riley**

It is with a mix of sadness and celebration that we announce the passing of Norma Jean Riley, who departed from this world on Friday, December 6, 2024, at the age of 69. Born on January 20, 1955, Norma was a daughter of the late Norman and Dorothy Ermlick Riley. She touched the lives of many with her vibrant spirit and unwavering kindness.

She retired as a hairdresser in California after 25 years. Retirement didn’t last very long as she went to work at the California Dollar General.

Norma is survived by her life companion of 52 years, Bob Santo; loving sisters, Becky Nichols, Debbie Gildow, and Bonnie Williams, as well as her dedicated brothers-in-law, Ollie Gildow, Bob Williams, and Jeffrey Nichols. She also leaves behind a dear cousin and partner in crime, Pam Duricic, who cherished their close bond. Together, they formed a family united in love and support, reflecting the warmth and joy that Norma brought into their lives.

A memorial visitation in honor of Norma’s life is set to take place on Wednesday, December 11 from 4 to 6 p.m., in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME, INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. with Rev. Amory Merriman officiating.

Following Norma’s wishes a Memorial “Party” will be held during the Steelers game on the weekend of January 4th, 2024 (the game with the Bungals is TBA) at the Roscoe American Legion, please come and share your memories and stories of her with family and friends.

Norma will be remembered for her infectious laughter, her love of family, and her endless capacity to bring happiness into the lives of those around her, her devotion to all of the cats in California, both downtown and in her neighborhood, and her participation in the “Drunk Bus.” As we celebrate her life, let us carry forward her spirit of love, joy, and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Cali Cats Rescue in Norma’s memory. We look forward to celebrating the beautiful life of Norma Riley with everyone who knew her.

Cali Cats Rescue will accept donations via VENMO (ajeney7882), PayPal (calicats2021@gmail.com), CASHAPP ($calicats2021), or checks can be mailed to 601 Monroe Ave., Brownsville, PA 15417
