Anna Elizabeth Bertovich, 94, of Masontown, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024, in her home, with her family at her side.
She was born June 3, 1929, in Smithfield, a daughter of the late Michael and Kathryn Novotny Rusnak.
Anna was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, Masontown. She enjoyed spending her time reading, raising chickens, growing flowers, working in the garden, and taking care of her dog, Mala.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Paul A. Bertovich; brothers, John Rusnak, Michael Rusnak and Stephen Rusnak; and sister, Kathryn Glova.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Janet (Michael) Smith of Smithfield, and Susan Fyock of Masontown; grandchildren, Kathryn Morrow, Sarah Fyock, Jacqulyn Fyock and Paul Fyock; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 9, in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Avenue, Masontown, and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 10, when prayers of transfer will be said in the funeral home chapel, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Masontown, with Father Anthony Cordtado as celebrant.
Interment follows at St. Agnes Cemetery, Masontown.
