Patty J. Borek, 77, of Connellsville, died Thursday, January 4, 2024, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. She was born August 9, 1946, in Coolspring, a daughter of the late Doris Cole Kurosky.
Patty was a 1964 graduate of the former North Union High School.
She was formerly employed at Rockwell in Uniontown and she was employed for 15 years at Wal-Mart in Mount Pleasant.
Patty was a member of the former Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church and current member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son, Thomas M. Borek, Jr. and his wife, Susane of Vanderbilt; two grandchildren, Thomas A. Borek and Madelyn M. Borek; her half-sister, Jerrilynn Kurosky of Uniontown; half-brothers, Walter and Wendell Kurosky of Uniontown; her second family, her sweetheart, Dwane Hixson of Wooddale and his children, Dwane Hixson, Jr. and wife Courtney of Wooddale and their children, Landen and Gabby, and Candy Hixson and friend Jeff of Connellsville and Candy’s daughter, Lea; also survived by several nieces and nephews including Dawn and her cherished pet cockatiel, Jake.
In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas M. Borek, Sr. in 2007; her grandparents, who raised her, Clarence J. and Bertha J. Cole; sister, Judy A. Cole; and half brothers, Terry and Paul Kurosky.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 12, in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 111 E. Green Street, Connellsville, where a blessing service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, January 13, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Paul Lisik as celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
