Elaine Malyn

Elaine Malyn, of Alexandria, Va., passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023, surrounded by family, during a brief hospital stay due to complications from an emergency surgery.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Ken) Lichtman, Neil (Hilary) Malyn, and Mark (Lisa) Malyn; and grandchildren, David and Elissa Lichtman, Bryan, Daniel, Robbie and Jenna Malyn.
She was predeceased by her husband, Milton; sister, Estelle Rosenbaum; and brother, Ben Terner.
Uniontown was her home for most of her life. She was born to Rose and Dave Terner in 1935, graduated from Uniontown High School in 1953, and raised her family in Uniontown.
She earned a B.S. in Education from the University of Pittsburgh and worked as a substitute teacher in the Uniontown and Laurel Highlands school districts and throughout Fayette County for many years. She taught both neurotypical children and adults and children with special needs until she relocated to Virginia in 2016 to be closer to her children.
