Janice Marie Browning Dearth, 83, of Brownsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Peroni’s Personal Care Home in Uniontown.
She was born on January 11, 1941, daughter of the late Ralph Browning and Irene Barclay Browning.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Edward Browning and Chris Browning; and a sister, Pat Browning.
Janice is survived by her husband of 63 years, William J. Dearth; her brothers, Jim Browning and wife, Fern and Paul Browning and wife, Kathleen.
Janice was the devoted mother of Kathy Bakewell and husband, Raymond, Bill Dearth and wife, Susan and Bob Dearth and wife, Eddray. She loved her six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Janice was a member of Bible Baptist Church, where she volunteered with the cleaning of the church. She also was employed for many years at the Brownsville Fisher Big Wheel and prior to that was secretary at Hillman Barge, where she met her husband. She was a true homemaker and loved to keep the house clean and spend her time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at THE SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, PA 15417, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, March 1, and from 10 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, with Pastor Tom Dallas officiating. Interment in LaFayette Memorial Park.
