James Tucker died Friday, May 24, 2024, at the age of 73. He was born April 8, 1951, in Brownsville, a son of the late Clement Wynn and Josephine Thomas Wynn.
James was affectionately known as “Dr. Love.” He was known for reaching out to family and friends to tell them how much he loved them. James was a kind and gentle soul who would do anything to help someone.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Jackson Barnes; and stepdaughter, Thelma Bradley.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Rose Bradley Tucker April 23, 2005. They were married for 19 years and together for 33.
James was a dedicated husband and father. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed watching them play and traveled to home games, where he grilled up fan favorites at tailgate functions. James loved cooking for his family and friends on Sundays and holidays, preparing delicious home-cooked recipes passed down from his mother.
James attended Brownsville Area High School, in Brownsville.
He served in the Marines Corps, worked in the coal mines, and after retirement spent his time transporting his friends to and from their doctor’s appointments.
His love of life and expression of love will always be cherished by his wife, Rose Tucker; and their blended family: James Tucker, III (Christina) of Fredrick, Md., Tami (Tucker) Dennis of Charleroi, Ronald Bradley, Floyd Williams, Aaron Williams, Brandon Williams of Republic, and Yolanda Tyler of California; his siblings, Sharon Wallace (Brett), Dr. Twila Wynn, Marlene Middleton, Bishop Leonard Tucker (Lanette), Michael Wynn (Terri), Kimberly Tucker, Carolyn Zimmer, Thomas Wynn (Regina), Clement Wynn (Anita), Emma Harris (Sean), Margaret Joseph (Wilson), and Alicia Harris (Tillman); his grandchildren, Nicco Dennis, Shakela Fryer, Tamia Michaux, and Zaire’ Bell; great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. James “Dr. Love” will be greatly missed.
Friends will be received at the Youghiogheny Western Baptist Association (YWBA), 624 Duck Hollow Road, Uniontown, PA 15401. The viewing will take place from 2 to 4 p.m., the hour of service, with Bishop Leonard Tucker officiating. Repass following the service.
