Kenneth Dale Sterbutzel, 86, of Uniontown, passed away Friday, November 1, 2024 at Monarch Meadow Personal Care Home, Uniontown, PA.

He was born in McClellandtown, PA on August 3, 1938, a son of the late Robert Leo and Mary Margaret Phillipi Sterbutzel.

Kenneth graduated from German Township High School Class of 1956. After graduating he served for two years in the U.S. Army during the Cuba Missile Crises.

Before retiring he was employed by Operating Engineer Local 66 as a heavy equipment operator.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Mary Margaret Matzus and brothers, Robert Leo Sterbutzel, Carl “Speedy” Sterbutzel, Rolla Richard Sterbutzel, Vincent Keith Sterbutzel and Donald Sterbutzel.

Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Lois Layhew; his brothers, Raymond Sterbutzel of Idaho, James Sterbutzel of McClellandtown, and David Sterbutzel of Fla., his special friend Phyllis Jamieson and several nieces and nephews.

Racing was Kenny’s passion and he usually won! He was well known for his stock car racing and had many feature wins. He had a love for antique cars.

Family and friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH, JR. FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Avenue, Masontown, PA from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 4, 2024 and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday the hour of Service in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment follows in St. Agnes’ Cemetery Masontown, PA.
