Edna Judith Hunt

Edna Judith Hunt, 78, of Connellsville, passed away peacefully, in her home, Sunday, November 3, 2024, surrounded by her children, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born August 20, 1946, in Uniontown, a daughter of the late Harry and Betty Jean King Holyfield.

She was a member of the Central Christian Church of Uniontown.

For many years, Edna was employed as a retail clerk at several local establishments, such as Century Cleaners, the old Pechins, and Healthland.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She enjoyed bingo, playing cards, listening to music (especially Elvis Presley), and spending time with her family.

Edna is survived by her loving children, Diana Lynn Banko (Paul) of Connellsville, Dennis Michael Hunt Jr. (Natalie) of Somerset, Douglas Edward Hunt (Joanne) of Uniontown, and Denise Michelle Cavrak (Brian) of Perryopolis; grandchildren, Ethan Michael Hunt (Katie Kinzler) of Arlington, Va., Eli John Hunt of Somerset, Cameron Davis Hunt of Uniontown, and Cooper Tomden Hunt of Uniontown; brothers, Arthur Wayne Phillips of Uniontown, and Clifford Lamoyne Holyfield of Lakeland, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Groff and Joanne Allison; brothers-in-law, William Bowers and David Tolbert, Sr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband of 28 years, Dennis Michael Hunt Sr., Edna was preceded in death by her companion, Charles Bartholomai; brothers, John Phillips and Harry Holyfield; and sister, Isabel Holyfield Tolbert.

The family would like to thank the staff at Uniontown Hospital and Amedisys Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Edna.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC., 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, PA 15425, where visitation will continue from 9 until the hour of the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, with the Rev. Heather Simpson officiating.

Interment and committal services will follow at Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made, in memory of Edna, to a charity of one’s choice.
