Thomas R. Stewart, V, 28, of Dunbar, passed away Friday, November 1, 2024, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, with his loving family by his side. He was born January 21, 1996, in Uniontown, a son of Annette Michelle Carey Wingrove and husband Robert of Dunbar, and Thomas R. Stewart, IV of Smithfield.
T.J. was a graduate of Laurel Highlands High School Class of 2014. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church.
Thomas previously worked at The Blind Association of Fayette County and T. N. T. Shooting Grounds.
T.J. was very talented; he enjoyed many interests including: fishing and hunting, listening to the music of Chester Beningfield of Linkin Park, playing drums and guitars and collecting trains. He was an avid Pittsburgh Penguin fan, enjoyed family vacations, being at the farm, but hockey was his TRUE passion. He played with the blind hockey league on the Pittsburgh Penguins blind hockey foundation, the Pittsburgh Rinos and the U.S.A. hockey as a goalie.
T.J. had a big heart with a kind compassionate soul; he brought joy and love to those who new him. His memory will remain in the hearts of those who were blessed enough to have been a part of his life. T.J. was loved deeply and will be missed terribly.
Left to cherish Thomas’ memory are his mother, Annette Michelle Wingrove and husband, Robert C. Wingrove, Jr. of Dunbar; his father, Thomas R. Stewart, IV and girlfriend Vicky of Smithfield; brothers, Brenden Stewart (Taylor), Robert Wingrove, III (Lindsey), and Alan Wingrove; sisters, Helena Wingrove, Brittany Sealy (Jordan), and Kari Wingrove; grandmother, Santa Maria Stewart; aunts and uncles, Heather Carey, Maureen Crawford (Bill), Melissa Drennon (Jerry), Becki Golden, Jeb Stewart, Dave Wingrove (Tammy), and Michael Carey; nieces and nephews, Lane, Gracie, Layla, Jamieson, Braylee, Jack and Hailey; his dog, Latte; and many cousins.
T.J. was preceded in death by his grandparents, Annie and William Carey, and Thomas Stewart, III.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, where family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 5. Visitation will continue in the funeral home from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m., when prayers of transfer will be held, Wednesday, November 6. A Mass celebrating T.J.’s life will follow at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church.
The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fayette County Blind Association.
