David Scott Hewitt, Sr., 53, of West Elizabeth, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024. He was born February 2, 1971, in Rahway, N.J.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Billy Sica and Sandra Kay McBurnie Hewitt; and a brother, Raymond Nelson Hewitt.
David was a “Jack-of-ALL-Trades”, a hustler! He worked hard his whole life, from shining shoes when he was younger to repairing and detailing cars when he got older, and a little bit of everything in between. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do, and if there was, he would be sure to learn how to do it.
David had a heart of GOLD, and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, and would do without himself. He was a great dad, stepdad and pap, who loved his children, and grandchildren, more than life itself. They were the driving force in his life. They are what he lived for!
David was a funny character … quite a jokester, really. He would have you belly laughing until your ribs hurt.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, David Scott Hewitt, II; daughter, Jessica Ann Macz; stepdaughter, Sonya Brangard; stepson, Dennis Brangard, Jr.; stepgrandchildren: Catrina, Jerry and Kiara Brangard, Frederick Barnett, Jr., Liam and Ashton Brangard, and D’enzo Varano; along with five siblings: Donald Lee Hewitt, Hope Ann Correll, Sherry Lynn Hewitt, Joseph Dwayne Hewitt, and Robert Michael Kersting; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral arrangements were private under the direction of the SHELL FUNERAL HOME, INC.
