Mill Run

Freeman R. “Moe” Miller, 76, of Mill Run, passed away peacefully Friday, October 4, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born December 11, 1947, in Mill Run, a son of the late John Nelson and Prudence G. Burnsworth Miller.

Prior to his retirement, Freeman worked as a Landscaper for Fisher Landscaping in Farmington for 20 years. He then continued to work for Seven Springs Resort in Champion as a Landscaper and in Ski Rentals for another 20 years.

He was a member of the Hickman Chapel Church in Mill Run.

Freeman loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting for deer and ginseng and also liked gardening.

Freeman will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his loving family; his brother, Mark A. Miller of Mill Run,with whom he resided; his sisters, Joyce Brothers and husband, Darvin of Clearville and June Bryner of Chalk Hill; his brother-in-law, John Bryner of Chalk Hill; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Freeman was predeceased by his sister, Dolores Bryner; his brother, John L. Miller and his wife, Joyce and a brother-in-law, Jerold Bryner.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 12 Noon to 1 p.m., the hour of a Funeral Service, on Wednesday, in the MARK C. BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., at the corner of Route 711 and 146 Municipal Building Road, Melcroft, 724-455-2310, with Pastor Timothy Beatty officiating. A Committal Service and interment will follow in the Indian Creek Baptist Cemetery, Mill Run.
