Catherine M. Pappas Swift, 91, of Uniontown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2024.
Catherine was born on December 24, 1932, in Arensberg, the daughter of John and Mary Martino Pappas.
In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, David Swift in 2004; son, David Swift; and her siblings: Helen Pappas, Irene Dawson, Yvonne Christopher and Theodore Pappas.
Catherine is survived by her children: Deborah Swift of Uniontown, Joy Pappas of Smithfield, Mary Broyles and Vincent Babauta of Alabama, Karen Minor and husband, Derek of Uniontown, John Swift of Uniontown and Christine Swift of Lemont Furnace; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; great-great-grandson, Waylon; brother, George Pappas and wife, Dorothy of Easton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends will be received in the DEGUSIPE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 65 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, Stacey A. Dolfi, FD from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, and until 9:15 a.m. on Friday, October 18, at which time Prayers of Transfer will be held in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill Street, Uniontown. Entombment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
A parish vigil prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 17.
