Phoebe E. Rose Marano
Uniontown
Phoebe E. Rose Marano, 89, of Uniontown, departed this life Thursday, October 24, 2024. She was born December 29, 1934, in Hibbs, to John and Artie Rose. Phoebe was a woman of steadfast love and commitment to her family, friends, and community.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ida Young, Geraldine Rose, Deed Myers, Madge Burton; and brothers, Gene and John Rose.
She leaves behind her loving daughter, Pam Cantalamessa and son-in-law Joby; her cherished grandchildren, Tito Cantalamessa, Job Cantalamessa and wife Kim, and Liz Powell and husband Mike; along with her adored great- grandchildren, Grant, Dylan and Cristian; and many nieces and nephews, who were like her own children.
Phoebe was reunited in death with her beloved husband, Tom Marano, who predeceased her after 56 years of marriage.
Phoebe’s professional life was marked by a distinguished 55-year career as an office manager at Parks Moving and Storage, where she was respected as a trailblazer among women.
A proud alumna of German Township High School, she was an active participant in the Satin Bags Investment Club, and the Ralph Cadet’s Card and Dinner Club, cherishing the bonds and friendships that lasted a lifetime.
Phoebe found spiritual solace and community at St. Therese Church, a faith she embraced wholeheartedly later in her life, sharing this journey with her grandson, Tito.
Her home was always a place of warmth and generosity, where she was known for her exceptional meals and open arms, especially to the many children she held dear and mentored throughout her life. If you were one of her “kids” you knew it by the special bond she created with her love and wisdom. She made everyone feel special with her devotion. One of her last remarks was, “Tell the kids I love them.”
A Mass, in celebration of Phoebe’s life, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 31, in St. Therese Catholic Church, 61 Mill Street Uniontown.
Arrangements entrusted to SHELL FUNERAL HOME, INC., Uniontown.
