Dale “Crash” Barnhart, 73, of McClellandtown, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in his home.
He was born January 2, 1952, in Uniontown, a son of the late Leonard and Sarah Lilley Barnhart.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Barnhart Wilson.
Dale was a graduate of German Township High School, Class of 1971.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Before retiring, he was employed as a coal miner at Maple Creek Mine, UMWA Local 1248, US Steel Company.
He was a Life Member of the McClellandtown Volunteer Fire Department #26.
Dale is survived by his daughter, Kristy Moniger, her husband, Brian and granddaughter, Abbey of Adah; brothers, Leonard Barnhart and wife JoAnne, and David Barnhart and wife Jenny of Minnesota; adopted daughters, Buffy Coffman and Steffani Palmer.
Family and friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Avenue, Masontown, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 25, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. hour of service in the Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, April 26.
Military Rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 423 and VFW Post 4584.
Internment follows in Church Hill Cemetery, German Township.
