Garnet E. Franks, 94, of Carmichaels, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025. She was born May 15, 1930, in Pennsville, Fayette County, a daughter of the late David S. and Laura Layman Hall.
Mrs. Franks was a graduate of North Union Township High School and had attended Sugar Grove Baptist Church. She took great pride in homemaker, cooking and baking.
Mrs. Franks especially cherished her grandchildren and, when under her care, instilled in them her best values. She was a matriarch to her younger siblings.
On October 16, 1954, she married Grant E. Franks, who died July 24, 2016.
Surviving are two sons, David G. Franks (Catherine) of Rices Landing, and Michael S. Franks of Carmichaels; three grandchildren, Jessica C. Popernack, Michael S. Franks, Jr., and Heidi N. Owen; two great-grandchildren, Willow Grace Owen and Wilson Grant Owen; two brothers, Delmas Hall and James Hall (Joyce), both of Adah; a sister, Linda Zigler (Butch) of Carmichaels; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, John Delbert Hall; and two sisters, Lois Turner and Elizabeth Norman.
Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 27, in the YOSKOVICH FUNERAL HOME, Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director / owner, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 28. Dr. Donald Wilson will officiate. Entombment will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
