Ruth A. Podolinsky, 98, of Thompson #1, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 19, 2025. Ruth was born May 28, 1926, in Little Rock, Ark., a daughter of the late James and Dora Cales.
Ruth was the beloved wife of 40 years to late Joseph F. Podolinsky, who passed away June 8, 1981.
She is survived by sisters, Ruby Davis and Rose Eddy.
Ruth was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Carl, Edward; and three sisters, Ida, Dorothy, Wanda; and a granddaughter, Maia.
Also surviving are her her children, Shirley McCloskey, Kathryn Holmes, Josephine Urani, Joseph Podolinsky, Linda (Kirk) John, Donna (Ron) Wynn, Michael Podolinsky, Anita (Daniel) Solomon, and Mark (Diane) Podolinsky; and 29 grandchildren; 46 great- grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Ruth had a compassion for her family, and loved her friends and neighbors. She was kind, loving and caring, and loved to cook and bake for everyone.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, February 23, in DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon Monday, February 24, in the Republic First Christian Church, 183 Republic Road. Interment to follow at Lafayette Memorial Cemetery immediately after the church service.
Ruth will be missed dearly by many family and friends.
