Ruth Zavora

Ruth Zavora, 95, of Uniontown, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 20, 2025. Born July 19, 1929, in Rices Landing, Ruth was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, whose love for those around her knew no bounds.
Ruth married her beloved husband, Henry Zavora, June 30, 1956. Together, they raised a family, and Ruth’s love for her family was the heart of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; her son, Daniel Zavora; her five sisters, Julia Coles, Anna Wolfe, Lucy Tuckish, Alice Zavora and Evelyn Maurin; and her 11 brothers: Joseph, Paul, Edward, Louis, Andrew, John, Rudolph, William, Robert, Charles Varesko and Michael Michlik.
Ruth leaves behind her loving daughter, Roberta Neubauer and son-in-law Steve Neubauer; along with her two grandsons, Joseph Neubauer, and Robert Neubauer and wife Kayla. Ruth’s grandsons were the loves of her life, and she delighted in their company and cherished every moment spent with them. She also leaves behind her sister, Dolores Hughes; and many nieces and nephews.
A member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, Ruth was known for her deep faith, which was evident in everything she did. She loved well and lived a life that was a testament to the strength of love and devotion.
Ruth had a passion for baking and was known for sharing her delicious treats, especially during the Neubauer’s Market House Open Houses. She even published a cookbook, sharing her recipes with those she loved. Ruth also had a lighthearted spirit, enjoying bingo, the lottery and scratch-off tickets, and she was a proud Pittsburgh Pirates fan.
Her family will always remember her for the love she gave so freely, the faith that guided her, and the warmth that made everyone feel special. Ruth’s love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, in the PAUL M. LESAKO FUNERAL HOME, INC., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, PA 15320 (724-966-5100), Paul M. Lesako, owner / supervisor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 180 Old Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, PA 15401. Please meet at the church.
