Hopwood

Linda L. Ellis Heinbaugh, 78, of Hopwood, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 22, 2025. She was born September 23, 1946, in Uniontown.

She was predeceased by her parents, Charles Ellis and Mary Elizabeth Hill Ellis; her husband, James G. “Jim” Heinbaugh on June 29, 2024; and her sister, Jean Ellsworth.

Linda, along with her husband, Jim, owned and operated the Garden Center and Gift Shop in Hopwood for many years. Previously she had worked for Bell Telephone and at one time was a skilled upholsterer. She was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother, who will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, James G. Heinbaugh, Jr. (Lisa) of Murraysville; her daughter, Dawn L. VanVerth (Clayton) of Uniontown; nine grandchildren, Katelyn Marie (Rain), George William, Rebecca Ann, Andrew (Deonna), Ryan, Adam, Sarah, Nathan, and Lydia; and great- granddaughter, Amelia; brothers, Chuck Ellis (Vee), Mark Ellis, and John Ellis (Kandy); and brother-in-law, Robert Ellsworth.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 1, in the SHELL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 164 S. Mt. Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, where visitation continues from noon until the 1:30 p.m. hour of service Sunday, March 2, with Pastor Charles O’Brien officiating.

Interment will follow in Chalkhill Lutheran Cemetery, Chalkhill.
