Stephen J. “Corky” Corcoran, 78, of Masontown, went to be with his Lord Monday, January 6, 2025.

He was born February 10, 1946, in Grays Landing, a son of the late John and Katherine Plitka Corcoran.

Steve was a 1964 graduate of Albert Gallatin High School.

On July 30, 1966, he married the love of his life and best friend, Ina Belle Frey, who survives.

He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

Steve always worked hard to provide for his family; he worked for US Steel as a coal miner electrician for 22 years at the former Maple Creek Mine. After retiring, he continued working and served his community as a FACT bus driver. He also served our local veterans as a member and Chaplain of the Rolling Thunder Veteran group for many years.

He was a long-time member of Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels. Steve was an extremely dedicated man and faithful servant to God, his family, and his country.

He enjoyed spending lots of quality time with his loved ones. He loved going camping in his RV, road trips in his big blue van, and beach vacations with his family. He was lovingly called “Poppy” by his five grandchildren and two great- grandchildren, but was soon known as Poppy by mostly everyone.

Also surviving are three devoted children and their spouses, Stephen John (Amy) Corcoran, Shelley Lynn (Michael) Mehalovich, and Jennifer Renea (Mike) Ludrosky; five grandchildren, Christian Paul (Chelsea) Corcoran, Hannah Elizabeth (Jon) Hernandez, Michael Hunter (Madison) Ludrosky, Nicole Brooke Ludrosky (Andrew), and Livia Kay Mehalovich; two great-grandchildren, Noah James Corcoran and Harper Quinn Corcoran; three sisters, Carol (Jim) Neff, Cathy (Jack) Thompson, and Suzanne (Douglas) Stuckey; and many beloved nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

“…and his Master replied, ‘well done, good and faithful servant!'” Matthew 25:23

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of a memorial service, Monday, January 13, in the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, 104 E. Greene Street, Carmichaels, PA 15320, with the Rev. Keith P. Larson officiating.

Arrangements entrusted to Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor.
