Dilliner

Elroy B. Osborne, 84, of Dilliner, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025, in his home, with his family at his side following a lengthy illness. Born in Bobtown March 5, 1941, he was a son of the late Charles and Myrtle Bellis Osborne.

A graduate of Mapletown High School, Elroy worked with Texas Eastern and then later worked at Shannopin Mine in Bobtown.

Elroy loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed gardening. He loved to decorate for every season, but his favorite season to decorate was Christmas. He had many skills and knew how to fix just about anything. What made him the happiest, however, was spending time with his family.

Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Shirley Ann Lewis Osborne; two daughters and their husbands, Sherry Darlene and Stanley Wolfe of Point Marion, and Diana Lyn and Thomas Stofcheck of Carmichaels; four grandchildren, Chad Wolfe, Tiffany Dillow, Bethany Dindl and Courtney Wissinger; along with seven great- grandchildren and another one due next month; and two sisters, Pat Stockman of Florida and Jean Machesky of Uniontown.

Also deceased are two brothers, Harold and Lloyd “Fuzzy” Osborne.

A private graveside service for his family will be held in the Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion.

Arrangements are in the care of the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion.
