Barbara Louise Bogozi Carafa, 77, of Masontown, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., with family by her side.

Barbara was born May 16, 1947, in Grays Landing, a daughter of the late Joseph Bogozi and Agnes Radosevich Bogozi.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother- in-law, Jerry Davis.

Barbara lived in the Masontown area most of her life, graduating from German Township High School, Class of 1965.

She worked as a cashier at Brodak’s Shop-N-Save in Masontown, and was a member of St. Francis Francis of Assisi Parish in Masontown.

She greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, watching her “stories” on television, and most of all being “Granny Barbie” to her beloved grandchildren.

On June 17, 1968, she married her dearly loved husband, Andrew Eugene Carafa, who preceded her in death November 15, 2008.

Barbara leaves behind her only son, Shawn (Margaret) Carafa of Stow, Ohio; a sister, Judy Davis of Uniontown; brothers, Joseph (Judy) Bogozi of Masontown, and David (Nanette) Bogozi of Locust Grove, Va.; five grandchildren, Colton, Summer, Oliver, Paige and Elizabeth “Brizzy” Carafa; and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 1 until the service time at 2 p.m. Monday, March 3, in the chapel at St. Agnes Cemetery, Masontown, with the Very Rev. Anthony J. Klimko, VF officiating. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, Masontown.
