Robert Eugene Walters, 79, of Smithfield, PA, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025 at his home.
He was born in Smithfield, PA on January 4, 1946, a son of the late Cleveland S. and Evelyn A. Minerd Walters.
Before retiring he was employed as a Coal Miner at Halo Coal Company. Robert enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Mildred Shipley Walters, sister Ginger Moats; and brothers: William “Bazz” Walters, Hershal Walters and Jim Minerd. Robert was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Left to cherish his memory are his son; Kenneth Walters and wife Jennifer, daughter: Roxanne Shutz and husband Derek and his stepson Robert Walters; grandchildren: Amilia, Kenny Jr., Mason and Owen.
Family and friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, Masontown, Pa., on Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. the hour of Service in the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Fairview Church of the Brethren of Masontown, Masontown, PA.
