Betty Jane Casterwiler, 99, of Uniontown, formerly of Little Summit, died Saturday, March 8, 2025, in the Laurel Ridge Center, Uniontown. She was born January 29, 1926, in Youngstown, Dunbar Township, a daughter of the late William C. and Elizabeth Alvirda Nelson Harper.

Betty was a longtime resident of Little Summit, Dunbar. She spent the last couple of years in the care of her nephew and niece, Ron and Bonnie Harper.

Betty retired from Anchor Hocking and she attended the Pennsville Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Kerri Casterwiler; her sister- in-law, Mary Millward; and many nieces and nephews. Betty was the last surviving member of her family.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Homer W. Casterwiler; her son, Scott C. Casterwiler; and her siblings, Samuel N. Harper, William E. Harper, Charles Harper, Sarah B. Harper Grimm, and Harry C. Harper.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 14, in BROOKS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 111 E. Green Street, Connellsville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, with the Rev. Dr. Terry V. Murray officiating. Interment will follow in the Bowman-Flatwoods Cemetery.
