Uniontown

LaVina Ruth Sutton Klingensmith, 97, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in Bella Health Center, Uniontown. LaVina was born October 3, 1928, the daughter of the late Guy E. Sutton and Jennie Grace Chipps Sutton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Lyle Klingensmith.

LaVina was a gradate of Georges Township High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairchance. LaVina worked as a bookkeeper.

Left to cherish LaVina’s memory are her children, Candace Jo McCahill (Sy) of Fairchance, and Lee Edward Klingensmith (Sonya) of Uniontown; her grandchildren, Mark Stoy McCahill (Keshia) of Westerville, Ohio, Dr. Nathan John Klingensmith (Lucy) of Swarthmore, Larisa Marchitelli (Steven) of Carmichaels, and Dr. Elizabeth Klingensmith- Tartal (Aaron) of Lewes, Del.; along with her great-grandchildren, Andrew, Josie and Grace Klingensmith, and Victor Marchitelli; sister, Lois Hustead of New Hudson, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, where family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of a service celebrating LaVina’s life at 1 p.m. Friday, November 14, with Pastor Mark Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.
