Vicki Lynn Captain Seftas went home to be with her Lord Monday, August 25, 2025, at the age of 70.

She was born January 25, 1955, a daughter of the late Charles and Bernadine Morgan Captain in Charleroi Monessen Hospital.

She is survived by her devoted son, Ian Captain, whom she loved with her whole heart; grandson, Luke Captain, the apple of her eye and “nana’s” pride and joy; a very special niece, Brenda Jean Bell, whom she loved like her own; sisters, Shelbie Bell, Carrie Romesburg (Geoff), Janice Chuboy (Jim), Brenda Kosanko (Greg); brother-in-law, Brian Showman; special and dearest friend, Sylvia Butler; along with several nieces, nephews and numerous great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronald Seftas; sister, Kelly Showman; brother, Ronald Ermlick; brother-in-law, David Bell; best friends, John Coldren and Mary Farquhar; and lastly, her first true love and father of her beloved son, Herbert Theis.

In retirement, Vicki enjoyed reading, listening to music, and collecting her treasured snowman figurines. As a very proud ordained minister, she was well known for her kind heart, nurturing soul, and generous spirit as she lived a life of servitude to others. Her thoughtfulness knew no limits as she regularly engaged with her extended family, constantly checked on, caring for, and assisting so many throughout her life. Her life’s purpose was dedication to, and taking care of, her cherished family.

She will forever be remembered for her unwavering loyalty, love and pride in and for her entire family especially her son and grandson.

To honor Vicki’s wishes, there will be no viewing or services at this time, as she preferred to be remembered in the moments she shared with loved ones. However, the family deeply appreciates thoughts, prayers, memories and messages during this time.

The BLAIR LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, Perryopolis, has been entrusted with Vicki’s professional funeral arrangements.

Condolences for the family are welcome at blairlowther.com
