Robert E. Henzly, of Hopwood, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and proud family man, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the age of 88, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born August 17, 1937, in Uniontown, a son of the late William and Ruth Cunningham Henzly.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Hultberg and her husband, Glen; and an infant granddaughter, Carrie.
Robert was a man of faith and strong values. He was known for his steady guidance, strong work ethic, and dependability. Thoughtful, caring and generous, he lived his life with integrity and humility, quietly earning the respect of all who knew him.
For 52 years, Robert was a loving and devoted husband to his beloved wife, Beatrice Henzly. He took exceptional care of her, standing by her side with patience, loyalty and unwavering love, a true example of commitment and partnership.
Family meant everything to Robert. He was a steady presence and a source of comfort and strength to those who loved him. Whether family lived near or far, he made sure they always felt supported, welcomed, and deeply loved. He was someone everyone could count on to be there.
Robert was also a hardworking man who appreciated life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid hunter who found peace in the outdoors, and he shared a love of travel with Beatrice, enjoying time spent exploring new places and creating lasting memories together.
He carried with him a quiet pride in having served his country, a commitment that reflected his lifelong sense of duty and responsibility.
Above all, Robert Henzly will be remembered as a man who loved his family fiercely, worked hard, and gave generously. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the values he passed down, and the countless memories shared by those who loved him.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Beatrice Alexander Henzly; his children, Sheryl Haines (Brian) of Fairchance, Robert W. Henzly of New Kensington, and Nancy Mickey (Scott) of Grindstone; grandchildren, Lara Mickey (Bransen McKay) of Masontown, Cullen Masney (Patsy Martin) of Fairchance, and Michelle Mickey of Hopwood.; great-grandchildren, LaMar, Aiyanna, Jeremiah, and Kennedy; niece, Jill Marciniak (Tim) of Lake in the Woods, Ill.; and two great-nieces, Anna and Lauren.
He was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Robert served in the U.S. Marines as a wireman from 1958 to 1964. He was honorably discharged and was proud to serve his country.
He is now at peace, resting in God’s eternal care.
Visitation will be held in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 12. Additional visitation will be held Tuesday, January 13, from 10 until the hour of the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Kevin Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
