Mary Lou Swallop, 88, of Lemont Furnace, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, in the Uniontown Hospital.
She was born in Lemont Furnace July 20, 1937, to the late Mike and Mary Little Cronin.
Mary Lou was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church.
On December 23, 1961, she married Kenneth E. Swallop, Sr., who preceded her in death February 20, 2016.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, and a loving grandmother, great- grandmother, aunt, sister, and sister-in-law. She greatly enjoyed making her home a place of comfort and happiness. Mary Lou only had kind words to say about everyone, and had a generous heart.
Mary Lou is survived by a granddaughter, Kalynn Henry of Lemont Furnace; and great- granddaughter, Karsynn; a daughter-in-law, Terie Swallop of New Salem; a brother, Donald “Louie” Cronin and wife Brenda of Cleveland, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth E. “Kenny” Swallop, Jr.; and eight siblings, Katherine Sileo, Michael Cronin, Ray Cronin, John Cronin, Margaret “Peggy” Newcomer-Bubash, James Cronin, Gerald “Jerry” Cronin, and Evelyn Villari.
Visitation for Mary Lou will be from 3 until the time of a service at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, 603 N. Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, PA 15401.
Entombment is in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
