Richard Domonkos, Sr., 77, of Perryopolis, passed away suddenly Sunday, January 25, 2026.
He was born March 4, 1948, in Mt Pleasant, the son of the late William and Margaret Farkus Domonkos.
A resident of Perryopolis, Mr. Domonkos was a member of St. Johnthe Baptist Roman Catholic Church of Perryopolis. Rich grew up in Perryopolis, went to Frazier High School and graduated in 1966.
Rich served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1970 during the Tet Offensive in the Vietnam War, where he received a Meritorious Service Medal for his actions.
He worked for US Steel and Consolidated Coal at Robena and Dilworth mines and was a member of the UMWA and the VFW Post 7023 in Perryopolis.
Rich was dedicated to his family and loved working with his hands. He also enjoyed spending time with his son working on cars and participating in car shows and events with his classic Mustangs.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Kuznar Domonkos, to whom he was married 57 years; son and daughter- in-law, Richard and Tammy Jobes Domonkos of Uniontown; son, Jeffrey Domonkos and Marc Smith of Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Tonya (Domonkos) and Dave Altman of Perryopolis; one grandchild, Mercades Lynn Martin of Perryopolis; and two great-grandaughters, Kailyn and Braeleigh Martin; brother, William (deceased) and wife Dee Domonkos; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Sue Domonkos of Connellsville; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Lynn Domonkos of Perryopolis; two sisters and brother-in-law, Peggy (Domonkos) and Ted Sebetich of Arnold City, and Mary Ellen Domonkos of Midway.
Visitation for Rich was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, 603 N. Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, PA 15401. Visitation continues Thursday, January 29, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the funeral home, where a blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 30.
Entombment is in Lafayette Memorial Park.
