Andrew M. Duda, 68, of Fayette City (Naomi), passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019, after a long battle with cancer. Born April 21, 1951, he was a son of the late Stanley and Helen Soohey Duda.
A Catholic by faith, he was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, where he had worked for 40 years as a craneman and served as union committeeman. He was a member of the East Belle Vernon Athletic Association and the Pricedale Hungarian Club.
He was a devoted family man who took care of his parents and he was a person that everybody loved to be around and would often “needle” his friends. He was also known as one of the best mechanics in his younger days. Andy is survived by his son and best friend, Andrew Mark Duda Jr., at home; daughter and son-in-law Jodi Lynn and Bill Petyak of Charleston, S.C.; brother-in-law David Ferguson and wife Audrey of Monessen; sister-in-law Donna Yurko and husband Joe of Scenery Hill; and several close friends.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Sheila R. Duda, in 2015; in-laws Harold and Laverne Ferguson; and uncle Walter Duda.
