Beverly Francine Hall Means

Beverly Francine Means 80, formerly of Uniontown, Pennsylvania was promoted to glory on Friday, June 15, 2018 following an eight-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease at the Hospice House in Kannapolis, North Carolina.

Beverly was born on September 27, 1937, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Clifford R. Hall Sr. and Theresa B. Hall Little.

She was a graduate of Uniontown Area High School, Class of 1956.*

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin F. Means, to whom she was married for 40 years; a daughter, Catherine Goisse; sons-in-law, Jack W. Goisse, Dean A. Dupont; brothers, Clifford R. Hall Jr. and Leonard Hall; and sister Erla L. Corteal

Beverly is survived by her sons: Captain David L (Darlene) Means of Lewistown, Pa., *Robert W. (Linda) Means of Dunbar, Pa.; daughter, Debra D. (Jon) Vecchio of Concord, North Carolina with whom she made her home. Beverly has five grandchildren: Nicole L. (John) Marietta Captain David L. (Kristin) Means Jr., Frank R. Means, Kati-Robb Means, and Janelle Dupont.* She has six great-granddaughters Elizabeth Hostetler, Gabrielle Hostetler, Abigail Hostetler, Hannah Marietta, Caleigh Means, Linnia Means. She is also survived by her siblings: Barbara Misner of Duncannon, Pa., Linda Whipkey of Fairchance, Pa., Sharon Lincoln, Norma (Charlie) Dillow, William (Debbie) Little, and Curtis (Sharon) Little all of Uniontown, Pa., Thomas (Bonnie) Little of Connellsville, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

Beverly is retired from The Salvation Army Thrift Store where she had over 40 years of service.* She is a member of The Salvation Army Corps where she was the Corps Sargent Major, Young People’s Sargent Major, Band Member, Home League Leader, Sunbeam Leader, Nursing Home Visitation Team, Choir member, and Sunday School Teacher.* Beverly was awarded The Salvation Army’s Salvationist of the Year for the Western Pennsylvania Division in 2008.* She was also a Silver Star Mother. *

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., where the family will receive friends on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in the funeral home followed by a Service Celebrating Beverly’s Life at 11:00 a.m. with Major Donald Carver and Major June Carver of The Salvation Army’s Territorial Headquarters officiating.

Interment will follow at Sylvan Heights.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to The Salvation Army Uniontown Corps, 32 West Fayette Street, Uniontown, PA 15401 or to the Parkinsons Foundation, 575 Lincoln Avenue, Bellevue, PA 15202. They also thank the Doctors and Nursing Staff at Cabarrus County Hospice House for the loving care they gave to Beverly and the family.*
