West Mifflin

Dolores Mae Apicella Garden, of West Mifflin, formerly of Uniontown, passed away Monday, September 9, 2019, at Locust Grove Personal Care Home, West Mifflin.

Dolores was born January 13, 1933, in Uniontown, a daughter of the late Aniello and Emma Volpe Apicella.

Dolores completed the volunteer training program with Albert Gallatin Home Care and Hospice and volunteered and enjoyed her volunteer work for several years. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her daughter and son-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Adonis Garden. They were married for more than 30 years and enjoyed working in the yard together and long sightseeing drives; and three brothers, John Apicella, O’Neil “Oscar” Apicella and Ralph Apicella; and her good friend and companion, Francis Hart, with whom she enjoyed music and cooking.

Dolores is survived by her daughter, Regina and her husband, David E. Conley of Pittsburgh and their two beloved greyhounds, Isaac and Finesse; her sisters, Barbara Jean Vilk of Ohio and Rose Yauger of Hopwood; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received in THOMAS M. DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, 136 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, today, Wednesday, September 11, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and until 9:15 a.m. Thursday, September 12, at which time a blessing service will be held followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown. Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
