Donna Rose Bezjak Chatlak, 75, of Masontown, passed away April 19, 2019, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va., surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Martin, December 3, 1943, a daughter of the late Carl and Irene Groflo Bezjak.

Donna was a graduate of Albert Gallatin High School.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Masontown, and was well known for her cooking. She catered many events for her church and enjoyed feeding her family and friends. Everyone will remember Donna in her apron at Howard’s Market preparing the lunch special of the day, and it is impossible to forget her always having a ticket that was “going off tonight.”

Donna will always be remembered for her kind heart, eagerness to help others and unconditional love for her family.

She was a lifelong member of the Democratic Party and had been a committee woman for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John M. Chatlak; daughter Carla Howard; and grandson Brad Howard. Sadly, in her later years, the loss of her husband and daughter left her heart broken. The family is at peace knowing Donna will once again be reunited with John and Carla.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Vincent Zapotosky and wife Carol, Lisa Chatlak and fiance Chuck Kovalcheck, son-in-law David Howard, Kim (Buzzy) Garnic, Karen (Wayne) Martell and John (Nancy) Chatlak; grandchildren Meghan Howard and fiance William McKoy, Logan Howard and wife Meg, William Vincent Zapotosky, Christopher Martell and Savannah Martell; brothers Alex Bezjak, Joe (Mickey) Bezjak and Carl (Lara) Bezjak; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she loved dearly.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 22, in JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Avenue, Masontown, and until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, when Prayers of Transfer will be said. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in Saint Francis of Assisi Parish Church, Masontown, with Fr. William G. Berkey and Fr. James F. Bump as co-celebrants.

Interment in St. Agnes Cemetery, Masontown.
