James Thomas Havlichek Jr. 62, of Uniontown, PA passed away suddenly Saturday September 14, 2019 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born July 7, 1957 in Brownsville, PA a son of the late James T., Sr. and Marie McDowell Havlichek. Also preceding him in death were a brother Theodore A. Havlichek, paternal grandparents, Robert and Anna Majstoravich Havlichek, maternal grandparents, Earl S. Sr. and Katherine

Dennis McDowell, uncles, Robert and Paul Havlichek, Calvin McDougle, Earl (Sam) and Harry McDowell, aunts, Rose Havlichek Freda, Ester Marie and Betty Jean Havlichek, cousin David Natoli and life long best friend, Bernard Polkabla.

Left to cherish his memory are sisters, Pamela S. Havlichek Lawver of Uniontown, Gwen D. Britcher Havlichek of Seven Valleys, PA, brother Mark (Monk) and Doris Havlichek of New Salem, special niece, Christie Lawver Locke and Angelica L. Lawver of Uniontown, nephews, John and Zachary Britcher, grandnephew and nieces, Malykie D. and Aurora C. Lawver, Jessica May Areford and Faith A. Locke who Jim also referred to as his best friend and so many of their friends whom he adopted along the way, aunts, Ethel Havlichek McDougle of Uniontown, Janet Havlichek of Cleveland, OH, Ruth McDowell of Morgantown, WV, Patricia Havlichek Natoli and husband Uncle Joe Natoli and several beloved cousins.

Jim also had three very best friends, Ronald Kippy Show and Richard W. Pepe, both of Uniontown and Eugene (Buddy) Twardersky of Pittsburgh.

Jim was a saint of Solid Rock Pentecostal Apostolic Church in McClellandtown, PA. He adored his church family and pastor. Jim graduated from UHS in 1975 and was top in his class in drafting. He graduated from WVCI in 1999 with a degree in accounting taking classes at Penn State Campus. Before his disability, Jim was employed at Judy Jean Bakery in Uniontown. He was very much into family, loved reading his bible, fishing, doing jigsaw puzzles, adult coloring books and playing games and cards. Although confined to a wheelchair, Jim always had a smile on his face and never complained. He was kind hearted and a joy to be around. For years Jim was surrounded by many medical professionals and the family would like to send a special thank you to them for all of the outstanding care and time spent with Jim. Dr. Marcy Goisse at Montgomery Medical and her attentive staff, Dr. Sajid M. Peracha and the wonderful team at the Hillman Cancer Center, his caring UPMC coordinator Teona Griffith, Dr. Jeffery James and his entire staff at the Uniontown Hospital Wound Care Clinic who were amazing with Jim, all the staff at Laurel Ridge and past and present nurses that gave him outstanding home care and spoiled him rotten. They were all like family to him.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday until 11 a.m. in SHELL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Leslie Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park.
