Joanne Gallentine Brown Meyers

Uniontown, Pa.

Joanne Gallentine Brown Meyers, 83, a lifelong resident of Uniontown, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 25, 2019, in Manteca, Calif.

Joanne was born on May 22, 1936, in Mill Run, a daughter of the late Audrey Gallentine.

She was a member of St. Therese Roman Catholic Church and had been a member of their choir and Altar Society. Joanne had also been employed as a licensed practical nurse at the County Home for many years.

She was also well known for her love of cooking, baking, gardening (especially her tomato plants) and always helping and taking in stray animals.

The highlight of her later years was spending time with her great-granddaughters, who were truly her pride and joy.

Joanne is survived by two sons, Marlyn Brown and wife Angelita of Manteca; Roger Brown and fiancee Francis Farris of Uniontown; granddaughter Angie Brown Lucas and husband Danny of Uniontown; and her three great-granddaughters, Kaitlin Lucas Stillwagon (Brandon) of Smithfield and Milissa and Danniele Lucas of Uniontown. She also leaves behind special friends, Judy (Greg/Homer) Nehls, Martha "Tootsie" Stajcar and Sylvia Pluto "Tomato" as well as her cat "Loving Kitty." There are several other family members, friends and neighbors who will miss her greatly.

A private family memorial service will be held in her honor.
