John R. Rulli, Owner of City Electric Company in Connellsville, Pennsylvania

John R. Rulli, 58, owner of City Electric Company in Connellsville passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2017. John spent his last days at home surrounded by family and friends.

John acquired City Electric in 1982 when his father, Anthony 'Duke' Rulli passed away.

John was Catholic in faith.

He graduated from Connellsville Area High School in 1976.

John was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, of which he coached from his recliner, while offering his play calling when things were not going so well. John's love of sports also included watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and playing and watching the game of golf.

John was a member of several clubs in Connellsville, which he enjoyed spending time with friends.

And most of all, John enjoyed spending quality time with his immediate and extended family.

Born on August 27, 1958, John was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony R. Rulli and Lorraine I. Rulli, of Connellsville.

John is survived by his wife of 35 years, Debbie Smalley-Rulli; sons, John R. Rulli Jr. of Scottdale, Pa., and Michael E. Rulli of Connellsville, and his canine friend, Mieka; siblings: Joyce L. Bartley of Connellsville, Anthony R. Rulli Jr. and Deborah Edwards-Rulli of Stephens City, Virginia, Mary Rulli-Mack of Atlanta Georgia, Ronald E. Rulli and Cindy Szele-Rulli of Connellsville, Lora Rae Rulli-Keslar of Connellsville; an aunt, Gloria 'Mikee' Rulli of Briney-Breezes, Florda; an uncle, William C. Shimshock of Jamestown Pa.; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Family and friends will be received at VITO MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 South First, Connellsville, on Friday January 20, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, January 21, from 9 until 9:45 a.m., the time of a Blessing Service in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Rita Roman Catholic Church 116 South Second Street, Connellsville, with Father Robert T. Lubic as the Celebrant.

Family and Friends are invited to a celebration of life at the Elks Club, 140 East Crawford Avenue, Connellsville, immediately following the mass service.

Connellsville ELKS 503 will hold a ritual on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
