Joseph F. Medved, 92, of Lemont Furnace, passed Sunday, May 5, 2019. He was born March 1, 1927, in Republic, a son of the late Thomas and Barbara Medved.

Joseph was the beloved husband of 53 years to Mary Stiner Medved. He is survived by his brother, George Medved Sr. of Michigan; his children, George Medved Jr., Denise (Louis) Medved Pirronello, Mark Medved and Joseph (Caryn) Medved; Thomas (Helen) Medved and his son, Daniel Medved; his brother-in-law, George (Helen) Stiner Sr. and his children Monica (Richard) Stiner Weisberg, George Stiner Jr. and Gregory (Angela) Stiner.

He was preceded in death by his other siblings, Frank, Steve and John Medved, Helen Medved Kapel and Catherine Medved Rozak.

Joe was a veteran of Word War II, a bridge and track lineman for the railroad, and a member of St. Mary’s (Nativity) Church in Uniontown.

Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, at STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, 603 N. Gallatin Avenue Ext., Uniontown, where Prayers of Transfer will be said at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s (Nativity) Church in Uniontown. Interment to follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery. Tributes are welcome at www.hakyfuneralhome.com. The Lazarus Ministry will conduct the wake service at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
