Joseph Hawkins


Joseph Hawkins, 77, of Uniontown, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019, in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born May 4, 1942, in Connellsville, son of the late John and Patricia McPartland Hawkins.

Left to cherish Joe’s memory is his beloved wife of 50 years, Janis Reeves-Hawkins; daughters Amy Popovich and husband Frank and Jodi Orawiec and husband Chris; his grandchildren who were his world, Jenna, Katie, Justin, Emily and Alex. He is also survived by cousin, Thomas Bernado and wife Chips and their daughter Tiffany and by his furry children, Susie, Toby and Timmy.

Joe graduated in 1960 from the former Immaculate Concepion High School. He retired from Integra National Bank, after beginning his career with the former Gallatin National Bank. He ended his career with a total of 36 years. He was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown. He was also a proud life member of the Elks Post 103 in Connellsville.

Arrangements have been entrusted to ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, PA. At Joe’s request services will be private.

The family would like to thank the staff of nurses and doctors at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV and the Uniontown Hospital for going above and beyond in caring for Joe and his family. Special thanks also to Joe and his family’s life long friends, Tom and Jan Rocks, Rudy and Cathi Danko, Judy Stradley, Ron Yankovich and the Potter’s crew.
