Margaret L. Henderson Ferens, 80, Dunbar, Pa., passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at her home while surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on November 8, 1937 the daughter of the late Ethel and Braden Henderson.

Margaret graduated from the former Dunbar Township High School with the Class of 1954 with twelve years of Perfect Attendance.

She was a member of Saint Stephen Byzantine Catholic Church in Leisenring, Pa.

Margaret was a very loving and giving person. She was always there for her family.

Margaret is survived by her high school sweetheart Albert Ferens to whom she has been married for 60 years.

She was the owner and operator, along with her husband, Albert, of Ferens Farm, LLC.

Also surviving are her three children: Patty Holchin and Pam Wolfe and husband Glenn all of Dunbar, Pa., and Mike Ferens and wife Carol of Houston, Pa. She was Grammy to the following grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the light of her life: Billy Holchin and wife Logan, Jenny Poole and husband Eric, Chrissy Holchin, Corey Ferens, Jessica Wolfe, and great grandchildren Jacob Poole, Taylor Holchin, Breann Poole, Audrey Poole and Landon Poole, Magnolia Jean Holchin; and her feline pal Stubby

In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her siblings, Albert Henderson, Donald Henderson, Melvin Henderson, Marie Wingard, Lou Mace, and Isabel Grimes; son-in- law, Bill Holchin; her dog Max and feline Peach.

The family gives a very special thanks to Margaret’s caregivers Karen, Cherry, and Amedisys Hospice for all of their wonderful care.

Family and Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m in BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green St., Connellsville, Pa., (724.628.1430) where a Panachida Service will be held Monday, June 18, 2018 at 10:15 a.m.

Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial will folllow at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Stephen Byzantine Catholic Church, Leisenring, Pa., with the Reverend Father Ronald P. Larko as Celebrant.

Committal Service and interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery Uniontown, Pa.

Parastas Service will be held in the funeral home today at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Saint Stephen Byzantine Catholic Church in memory of Margaret L. Ferens.
