Margaret LaVerne King Caringola "LaVerne"

Margaret “LaVerne” (King) Caringola, 92, of Connellsville, Pa., passed away peacefully on Friday, November 9, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at the South Connellsville Personal Care Home.

LaVerne was born on Friday, June 11, 1926 in Connellsville, Pa., the daughter of Robert A. and Mary Elizabeth (Andursky) King.

She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in the Class of 1944.

In Laverne’s younger years, she worked at McCrory’s and also at Troutmans for a short time.

After her employment, she became a loving homemaker to her family who were all her pride and joy.

LaVerne was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Connellsville where she was a Christian Mother, choir member, helped with the Mercy Meals.

She was also a long time bowler, an avid reader, enjoyed writing and playing bingo.

LaVerne is survived by her loving children: Christine Caringola of Connellsville, Pa., Jane Ann Caringola-Geary of Connellsville, Pa., John R. Caringola and wife Debbie of Greensburg, Pa., Thomas J. Caringola of Oakmont, Pa., Mark D. Caringola and wife Chris of Connellsville, Pa 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Janet L. King of Cleveland, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Caringola; two children, Nancy Caringola (2008) and Danny Caringola (2011); grandchildren, Kenneth Geary Jr. (1998) and Rebecca Geary-Lessman (2017); sisters, Theresa King Sister Mary Robert OSB, Dorothy Kirschner, Ann Hall; and a brother, Robert “Bobby” King.

Family and friends will be received in PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC., 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, Pa., Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m when Prayers of Transfer will be said. The Funeral Mass will follow at 12 Noon at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church with Reverend Father Robert T. Lubic as Celebrant.

Committal will follow at Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery, Connellsville, Pa.
