Normond D. Swaney

Uniontown

Normond D. Swaney, 87, of Uniontown, and formerly of Fairchance, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 7, 2019.

He was born October 7, 1931, in Fairchance.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Palmer Swaney and Nellie Hickle Swaney; his wife of 55 years, Edna Ruth Harding Swaney; and brothers Raymond, Tub, George, Blackie, Frank, Herk and John Swaney.

Surviving are his two sons, David D. Swaney and Alan R. Swaney; two grandchildren, Tracy Swaney and David Cotleleer and their mother Karen; one great-granddaughter, Desiree Crelia; brothers Earl, Merle and Nelson Swaney; sister Sis Sutton; and nieces and nephews.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Normond was employed for many years with United States Steel.

It was his request that all services be private, under the direction of DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, PA 15436.
