Thomas Joseph Esper, age 79, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully Tuesday December 2, 2014.
He was born on Tuesday, October 22, 1935 the son of the late Michael Esper and Marsha (Barkett) Esper.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Esper, Mike Esper Jr., George Esper; and sisters, Ann Mullen, Jeanette Surgenor, Freda Nypaver, Catherine Coughenour, and Rose Jabour.
Thomas was a member of Saint George Maronite Catholic Church.
He was employed for many years at the Department of Public Welfare.
Thomas was a 1953 graduate of Uniontown Area High School and a 1957 graduate of West Virginia University.
He loved sports and playing cards with his friends.
He enjoyed current events and looked forward to meeting his friends for coffee at McDonald's every morning but most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren who called him 'Pap Pap Tom.'
He is survived by Pauline (Reagan) Esper; his children: Mark Esper and wife Leah of Fairfax Station, Virginia, Patty Yerina and husband Dan of Pittsburgh, Pa., Donna Gogarty, Crofton, Maryland, Beth Santore of Uniontown, Pa.; his grandchildren whom he loved and adored: Luke, Jack and Kate Esper, Sara, Michael, Alex and Steven Yerina, Ben, Ryan and Jack Gogarty, and Emma and Paige Santore; his former son-in-law, Patrick Santore and son-in-law Matt Gogarty; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; many friends.
Friends will be received in KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today, December 5, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday morning until 11:00 a.m. when parting prayers will be said at 11:30 a.m.
Divine Liturgy will follow at Saint George Maronite Catholic Church, One Lebanon Terrace, with Reverend Father Sami Chaaya as Celebrant.
Interment will follow.

A parish Rosary will be said at the funeral home today at 6:00 p.m.
Service of Ghinnaz will be held at the funeral home today at 7:30 p.m.
