William H. “Bill” Pollard Jr., 98, of Moon Township, Pa., passed away peacefully Sunday, November 4, 2018.

He was born at home in Lemont Furnace, Pa., on March 7, 1920 son of William H. Pollard Sr. and Nancy Davis Pollard

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his daughters, Wanda Hagood and Toni Breckenridge; brothers and sisters, Herbert Pollard, J. D. Pollard, Robert Pollard, Harold Pollard, Jack Pollard, Howard Pollard, Christina Yarborough, Jean Ryans, Phyllis Betters; his sons-in-law, Royal D. Hart Sr. and Alexander Hagood.

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Armyduring World War II. He entered service on August 2, 1944 assigned to Camp Claiborne, Louisiana. He embarked for France on January 26, 1945 with Engineer Dump Truck Company. He was also part of the Army of Occupation in France.

Bill was a great guy who had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off of his back. Above all, he was a beloved husband, father, grand father, great grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 79 years, Elizabeth (Parker) Pollard; his daughter, Rose Hart of Robinson Township, Pa.; his grand children: Richard Hart (Salina Franklin) of Arlington, Texas, Royal D. Hart Jr. (Boyanne) of Aliquippa, Pa., Alacia Reeves (Daryl) and Stephanie Hagood of Clairton, Pa., Byron Breckenridge (Latoya) of Rockwall, Texas, Gavin Breckenridge of Wichita, Kansas; 13 great grand children; numerous great great grandchildren; his sisters: Arona Cook, Patricia Pollard, Barbara Nichols; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., Friday, November 9, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the hour of the Service. Rev. Crable will officiate.

Interment will be held in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa
