JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) — Police say a Jamestown officer was assaulted by a suspect during a weekend arrest at a bar.

Authorities say officers responded Saturday to a report of a suspicious man peeking into windows. An officer found the man in the parking lot of Casey's General Store and ordered him to take his hands out of his pockets.

KQDJ reports police say the man fled into the IDK Bar & Grill where he fought with an officer and assaulted him. Additional officers arrived and arrested the suspect. The officer was treated at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
