Supervisors criticized

2 min read

Dear Editor: Perry Township supervisors A. J. Boni and Janet Galla feel they can run the township according to their own personal interests, in defiance of the majority of residents and of the other supervisor.

They refused to act on a petition, carrying the names of hundreds of residents, to reinstate Adam Muccioli as roadmaster. Instead they are paying much more taxpayers money to hire subcontractors and part-timers to do the work that Muccioli used to do.

Of course, Boni kept his job. Muccioli has 17 years experience and the support of hundreds of residents. Boni has only one-year experience. Don’t believe Boni and Galla’s lie that they removed Muccioli to save money. It is all part of their personal vendetta against Muccioli.

They refuse to correct false minutes, even when confronted on several occasions by residents. When a motion is voted on in a public meeting, the minutes must reflect the same motion, which becomes policy. Boni and Galla approved minutes that were proven to be false and refused to correct them, in essence determining township policy on their own, behind closed doors.

They ignored the objections of residents and purchased another CDL vehicle. The township already has two good trucks and didn’t need the expense of another. This is part of an ongoing effort by Boni to keep Muccioli from his job, because he has no CDL. Actually the smaller non-CDL trucks are more useful because they can maneuver in the patch communities. They should get rid of the large CDL trucks and move toward all smaller trucks, which are less expensive and work much better on the roads in this township.

They ignored the objections of residents and continued with unnecessary remodeling of the township building.

Galla rubber-stamps everything that Boni wants, and they don’t confer with Muccioli or care about the wishes of the residents. They feel they don’t have to answer to anybody. The residents of this township deserve honest, hardworking supervisors, who run the township on the behalf of the residents. They do not deserve power-hungry individuals who are only concerned with themselves, such as Boni and Galla.
