Recognition for good priests

2 min read

Dear Editor: With all the disclosures of wrongdoing of a few clergy within the Catholic Church these last months, the Greensburg Diocese Council of Catholic Women feels it is most appropriate to recognize and commend the majority of priests for their dedication, concern and many accomplishments in working for the spiritual and temporal growth of their parishes and communities.

As the Catholic Church comes under extreme criticism regarding recent events involving a few individuals, the majority of good and holy priests who serve with courage and conviction should not go unnoticed or unappreciated.

We offer our support and encouragement to those faithful priests who serve us every day in the same manner that Jesus would if He were bodily present.

Our church leaders are addressing the problem and we must remain confident that our church will be stronger as a result.

We are confident that the Catholic faith in America will remain strong and continue to grow for generations and that the citizens of the United States will benefit as a result.

May their proud example of the ways of the Good Shepherd give us all the conviction to publicly pronounce our faith and our support for the clergy throughout the Greensburg Diocese.
