A word of thanks

2 min read

Dear Editor: The residents, family members, management, staff and friends of Henry Clay Villa of Markleysburg want to acknowledge all the firefighters and EMS units who responded to the alarm so quickly on Monday, July 8.

Although there was no fire found, the thought of all those responding was heartfelt and satisfying to all of us.

Is information confidential?

Dear Editor:

I am angry and didn’t know how else to vent it. I have a simple question. Since when is it policy for the Fayette County Prison to give private information to a person who is not a friend or relative of an inmate? Even when you’re family or a friend and you call to ask a question concerning an inmate you are told they cannot give out any information.

Yet, my daughter told me today that someone we know visited her at her place of employment and mentioned to her that he thought it was funny that another person, who is an inmate at the Fayette County Prison, is on a suicide watch. I’m sure he couldn’t wait to tell half of Brownsville and Grindstone. He told my daughter he knows it’s true because he’s friends with a prison employee.

No one knows what it’s like to be in there. It does things to your mind and emotions. How can this person give out privileged information?
